“Embracing Shariah based Economics, Laws and Education as New Engine towards Better and Sustainable Inclusive Growth”.
Vice President for Planning and Development Rasid M. Paca and Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Atty. Saaduddin Alauya were the official delegates from Mindanao State University Marawi Campus in the 1st International Conference on Islamic Development Studies (ICIDS) at Bandar Lampung Indonesia last Sept 8-12, 2019.
The theme of the conference was “Embracing Shariah Based Economics, Laws and Education as a New Engine towards Better and Sustainable Inclusive Growth”. There were more than 100 delegates coming from different countries around the globe participated in the conference. From 100 delegates, 80 papers were selected for oral presentation during the parallel sessions.
VP Paca was one of the members of the Scientific Committee in the said conference and he delivered message about “Muslim in the Philippines: Its Origin, Status and Prospects”. In his message, he reiterated that “everlasting peace, development, and prosperity are attainable when there is unity in diversity.”
One of the highlights of the conference was the possible future collaborations of different university around the globe. As a result, VP Paca and VC Aluaya successfully entered a MOA among the following univerisites: Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, Universitas Sang Buni Ruwa Jurai, Iain Metro Lapung, Sekolah Tinggi Economi Pan Bisuis Islam Lampung, and Raden Lutan State Islamic Universities of Lampung.
