GSIS-Iligan Conducts an Orientation for GFAL II

On November 5, 2019, the GSIS-Iligan conducted an Orientation for GSIS Financial Assistance Loan (GFAL) Program II to the Mindanao State University constituents at the Convention Center. Before the orientation, a Memorandum of Agreement between MSU and GSIS was signed on October 16, 2019 at Office of the President (OP) Conference Room, Administration Building.
MSU System President Habib W. Macaayong gave his welcome address to the MSU constituents where he said, “MSU is no different from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) with respect to its aspirations and mandate for the whole Filipino nation.”
GSIS-Iligan Branch Manager, Alexis D. Arumpac highlighted the role of GSIS. According to him, “GSIS being your partner looks after your financial concern.” He also introduced the new feature of GSIS with its latest loan transfer and consolidation Program called as the GSIS financial Assistance Loan (GFAL) II.
It was known to many that GFAL I which was previously offered to the public teachers and staff of the Department of Education (DepEd) started from July 2018 and will end this December 31, 2019. Due to its clamor, GSIS expanded its GFAL coverage as of July 2019 to other government agencies. GFAL II aims to settle outstanding loans from accredited lending institutions and to come up with Top-Up loan. Meanwhile, Ivory N. Paunte, Officer I of GSIS-Iligan, discussed the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding the GFAL.
Camar L. Umpa Jr., a financial expert of GSIS-Iligan, conducted a seminar about the Financial Literacy Program where he said that, “We want to improve your standing.’’ An open forum followed after the seminar.
Thereafter, Director Amer D. Pangandaman of Human Resource Development Office, concluded the event as he expressed his gratitude to the GSIS-Iligan for conducting an Orientation about the GFAL II to the MSU Constituents.
