The 2018 MSU Marawi Faculty Orientation, sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, was successfully conducted last November 23, 2018 at the CHARM Pavilion, MSU-Marawi City, and it was vigorously participated by the Deans, Assistant Deans, Directors, College Department Chairpersons, Graduate Teaching Assistants, and Newly- Hired Contractual Faculty Members from the various colleges and high school units of the University. MSU System President, Dr. Habib W. Macaayong, pleasantly graced the occasion and inspired the participants to take part in upholding the MSU’s ideals and become assets of the University in spreading peace and excellence in the nation.
To enlighten the participants especially the newly-hired of their duties and responsibilities as new faculty members of the University, significant topics such as Work Ethics, Becoming a Peaceful Teacher, the Contemporary Learners and their Learning Environment, and Outcomes Based Education (OBE) were remarkably discussed in the morning by Atty. Aurora Racmat; AVPAA Dr. Samuel E. Anonas, VCAA Dr. Florencio Recoleto Jr. and OVCAA Special Assistant Dr. Godiva Rivera respectively. In the afternoon, three of the OVCAA Special Assistants highlighted important concerns that every faculty member must know such as the Faculty Grant of Permanent Tenure by Dr. Johara D. Alangca-Azis, Faculty Promotion by Dr. Amerkhan G. Cabaro and Faculty Development and Scholarship by Prof. Amor Abrenica. The Open Forum that provided opportunity for faculty to inquire was then effectively facilitated by two OVCAA Special Assistants, Prof. Edward Fajardo and Prof. Elpidio Ricaborda.
