Tilapia and Carp Species Fingerlings Stocked at Ranaw Basin

In pursuing the University’s commitment of helping to improve the socio-economic living and alleviate poverty in its service area, the Mindanao State University, through the College of Fisheries (CoF) spearheaded the fish stocking in collaboration and cooperation of the University Extension Services Center (UESC) with the MSUCommunity Relations Office (CRO) and the local government unit (LGU) of Taraka on August 22, 2019. Around 35,000 fingerlings of tilapia and carp species were stocked at the lake shore of Barangay Ririk in the Municipality of Taraka, Lanao del Sur in support of the national government effort in increasing fish production, particularly in the Ranaw Basin. The University constituents under the leadership of Dr. Habib W. Macaayong extended its sincerest thanks and gratitude to the local government unit of Taraka in providing their resources for the success implementation of that said activity.
